Video Du Jour: Flaming Lips

You all know and love the Flaming Lips. From their strange album titles to their weird psychedelic tunes, to the whole gummy skull thing, Wayne Coyne and Co. never fail to fall on the bizarre side of things.

The band’s annual New Year’s Eve Freak Outs, held in Oklahoma City, are legendary and the most recent event (No. 5) featured performances from Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band. Not to be outdone, the Lips served up some tasty covers of Beatles tunes, including this version of “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” with guest guitarist Nels Cline (Wilco).
