Video of the Week: “Raintears” by Scala & Kolacny Brothers
Scala & Kolacny Brothers is a girls’ choir from Belgium, conducted by Stijn Kolacny and arranged and accompanied by Steven Kolacny on the piano. They do mostly covers of songs by the likes of Björk, Radiohead, U2, Nirvana, Depeche Mode and others.
Many people latched on to this act when an internationally released movie trailer for The Social Network featured the choir doing a version of Radiohead’s “Creep.” Their stuff has also been on the TV shows “Nikita” and “Sons of Anarchy.”
The choir also does original songs, like “Raintears.” The video was designed by Steven Huybrechts and a team of animators, who hand-drew each frame and connected them over a six-week period. The song is from the recently released Dawn EP.
Here’s the trailer for The Social Network.
And this one’s for … you know who you are. A choir of teenage girls performing “I Touch Myself,” by the Divinyls.
