This week will mark the release of a new album from 62-year-old Meat Loaf: Hang Cool Teddy Bear. It’s a concept album (of all things) about a returning soldier whose life is flashing back. Or something. Guests on the album include Steve Vai, Brian May (of Queen), Jack Black and Hugh Laurie (yeah, the actor from “House”). Here’s the first single, “Los Angeloser.”

Posted in Rock Moment with tags Adam Cagley, GoPhone, Meat Loaf, Tiffany on May 14, 2008 by 30daysoutAt one point a couple of weeks ago, at least four people commented on this AT&T television commercial with a singing family. “Who’s that guy playing the father?” somebody asked. Well, kiddies, that’s Meat Loaf!
The commercial, for the company’s “Go Phone,” depicts a son (played by actor Adam Cagley) asking dad for one of these phones and Meat, as the dad, launches into “Let Me Sleep On It,” the final part of his opus “Paradise By The Dashboard Light.” (The song is from Loaf’s 1977 triple-titanium monster classic Bat Out Of Hell.) Then, for some reason, Mom joins in the production and she’s played by 1980s teen-pop diva Tiffany. Pretty funny the first couple of times you see it, and now you know what Meat Loaf’s doing when he is not creating sequels to Bat Out Of Hell.
