A hot parking lot was an unlikely venue at SXSW for She & Him, the folk-pop duo of M Ward and indie-movie queen Zooey Deschanel. Kind of strange to see so many moms (with kids in tow) right off Austin’s crazy Sixth Street, but She & Him have a solid buzz that’s aimed right at that audience. And with a full band, they sounded just fine – Zooey’s songs are pretty, straightforward 70s folk and they go down easy with her smoky voice poured on top.
